I am privileged to be a Support Worker and working alongside those in our local community who are navigating their way through their own breast cancer diagnosis.

BCSST have personally been a huge support to me during my own health journeys and the support and care I received was invaluable.  Now my turn has come to pay it forward and I am grateful to work as part of an amazing team supporting those during their time of need.  I love this job and will continue to carry on the legacy and values of BCSST.

After my diagnosis in late 2020, I remember my sense of relief when I discovered BCSST. It was so reassuring to know that there were others who had been through breast cancer themselves, walking alongside me as I navigated the turmoil of emotions, appointments and treatments.

I am forever grateful for the practical and emotional support I received from the support workers and whole team at BCSST.  I am honoured to be able to offer that support now to others navigating their own journey.

Before joining Breast Cancer Support Services BOP, I dedicated many years to working in Aged Care. This experience gave me a unique perspective on the importance of compassion, empathy, and leadership in providing support to those in need.

I am excited to bring these values and skills into my role here at Breast Cancer Support Services, where I feel incredibly privileged to contribute to the well-being of those affected by breast cancer.

Coming from a background in corporate finance, I’m overjoyed to be utilising my skills in such a worthy organisation.

I don’t think there are many who don’t know someone that’s been affected by breast cancer and I’m excited to be able to make a positive contribution in helping to improve the lives of people in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.

After going through breast cancer myself in 2014 and being involved with several large breast cancer fundraisers since then I began work for the Trust in 2017 to assist with the organisation of fundraising events, gaining sponsorship and the management of volunteers.

Having a background in planning and being very community minded I love using my skills in a new positive way to help those going through a difficult time in their lives whilst raising funds to enable the Trust to continue and grow the wonderful services and support they offer.  I am humbled to work for the Trust and be involved with such a fabulous team.

I come from a strong business background with experience in finance, project management, fundraising, and event management. Over the past 15 years, I’ve also had the privilege of volunteering with a number of organisations across our region, which has deepened my appreciation for the power of community.

In my role as Fundraiser Co-ordinator, I’m excited to bring my skills and passion to an organisation that makes such a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. I feel truly grateful to contribute to a team that offers hope, support, and connection to so many individuals and families.
